Bosnal Review: Compostable Plates, Bowls & Cutlery for Parties and Everyday Meals

If you're tired of flimsy paper plates and plastic cutlery, Bosnal offers a more eco-friendly alternative. The brand makes disposable tableware from sugarcane bagasse (a byproduct of sugar production) and natural wood, and also sells palm leaf plates and bowls.

What stands out

• Plenty of shapes and sizes: 7-inch dessert plates, 10-inch round and oval dinner plates, divided plates, 16 oz and 32 oz bowls, 5-compartment meal trays, and 3-compartment clamshell boxes for takeout.
• Built for real meals: Bosnal describes its products as sturdy, heat and leak resistant, and microwave-safe, so they should handle hot food better than thin paper plates.
• Cutlery included: Natural wood spoons, forks, and knives come in sets from 100 to 1,000 pieces, and there are ready-made combo sets with plates, bowls, and cutlery in one box.
• Good for parties and businesses: Bulk 500-packs (about $70 to $90) suit events, caterers, and food businesses, while smaller packs and bundles suit family gatherings and picnics. There's also a bundle discount (5% off 2+ packs, 10% off 3+).
• Eco angle: The brand says its products are free from dyes and harsh chemicals, break down into soil, and won an environmental sustainability award from Build Magazine in 2023.

Who it's for

Hosts, caterers, food trucks, and anyone who wants easy cleanup without so much plastic.

Before you buy

Check which material you're getting (bagasse or palm leaf), confirm the compostability certification, and find out whether your local area accepts compostable items. Prices and bundle deals change.

Verdict: A practical, eco-minded choice for parties, takeout, and everyday disposable dining.
