Founded in 2015 by Richard Bennett and based in New York City, Epicured is a clinical nutrition and direct-to-consumer meal delivery platform operating at the intersection of culinary gastronomy and therapeutic medicine ("Food is Medicine"). Built to address chronic gastrointestinal (GI) and digestive disorders, Epicured is recognized as the first direct-to-door fresh meal service specifically formulated around the clinical Low-FODMAP diet and strict gluten-free standards. By pairing Michelin-trained chefs with leading gastroenterologists and registered dietitians (notably collaborating with Mount Sinai Health System practitioners), Epicured eliminates the food anxiety, symptom flare-ups, and prep friction faced by patients diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), Celiac Disease, Crohn’s, Ulcerative Colitis, and other inflammatory gut conditions.

From a therapeutic nutritional framework, HACCP safety compliance, and culinary architecture perspective, Epicured organizes its platform across several key competencies:

• Evidence-Based Low-FODMAP & Gluten-Free Rigor: The foundational core of Epicured's menu. Formulations strictly follow Monash University Low-FODMAP guidelines, eliminating high-FODMAP fermentable oligosaccharides, disaccharides, monosaccharides, and polyols (such as standard garlic, onions, wheat, and high-lactose dairy) that trigger gas, abdominal pain, and bloating. All meals are prepared under comprehensive gluten-free Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) protocols, ensuring safety for individuals with Celiac disease.

• Michelin-Trained Flavor Engineering & Infusions: Unlike conventional bland clinical diets, Epicured’s culinary team uses specialized preparation techniques—such as custom garlic-infused extra virgin olive oils (where flavor compounds infuse into oil lipids without transferring water-soluble FODMAP fructans), cold-pressed avocado oil, fresh herbs, and acid balances—to achieve restaurant-grade complexity in comforting staples like Truffle Mac 'n' Cheese, Laksa, Tikka Masala, and braised proteins.

• Comprehensive Multi-Day Category Menu: Spans over 50 freshly prepared rotating items categorized into full-portion Entrees, Fresh Salads, Gut-Soothing Soups, Grab-and-Go Breakfasts (chia puddings, smoothies, frittatas), Energy Bites, and Gut-Friendly Artisan Bakery boxes.

• Subscription Modular Bundles & Meal Planning: Flexible subscription models offering 6-, 9-, or 12-meal weekly configurations (alongside an interactive weekly meal planner). Users can select curated rotational cycle menus (Omnivore, Pescatarian, or Vegetarian) or customize their delivery a la carte week-to-week.

• 100% Fresh (Never Frozen) Cold-Chain Logistics: Meals arrive fresh-chilled (not frozen) in recyclable Polypropylene (PP) containers paired with non-toxic, water-soluble gel refrigerant packs and insulated PET liners, ready to heat and serve in under 3 minutes.

Operationally, Epicured fulfills direct orders across the continental United States through primary logistics couriers (UPS, FedEx, and regional last-mile delivery services) operating with scheduled Monday through Thursday arrival windows. Customers can pause, skip, or cancel recurring subscriptions at any time with no long-term commitments, supported by dedicated digital client support.
